Community guidelines
Bamber only works if everyone means it.
Bamber holds two secrets at once, so the whole thing rests on people being genuine. These rules are enforced, not decorative.
What Bamber is for
One person you actually know and actually like, told to Bamber in private. Bamber finds out quietly whether it goes both ways, and introduces you only if you both say yes, separately.
What is never allowed
- Dares, pranks, bets, or naming someone to see what happens.
- Revenge, humiliation, or trying to embarrass anyone.
- Naming a stranger, a public figure, or someone you have no real connection with.
- Naming someone who has asked you to leave them alone, blocked you, or already said no.
- Anyone under 18, in any role. Bamber is strictly for adults.
- Using Bamber where there is a power imbalance — a student, a direct report, a patient, a client.
- Trying to work out who named you, or pressuring anyone to tell you.
- Anything sexual, threatening, or abusive in a shared room.
Boundaries are absolute
Silence is an answer. Later is an answer. No is an answer. Nobody is ever told whether their invitation was opened, read, or replied to, and nobody gets a second attempt at the same person.
What happens when someone breaks these rules
Bamber refuses the request, closes the case, and records it for safety review. Blocking is permanent and cannot be undone from either side. Repeated reports suspend an account. Serious cases are reviewed by a person, and only the minimum information needed for that review is ever looked at.
